Crystal Barry, MA
Executive Director & Board Member
Crystal Barry is the Founder and Executive Director of Therapeutic WORKS Inc., bringing over 15 years of experience in the mental health field. A Rostered Psychotherapist and Mental Health Consultant, she holds a master’s degree in clinical psychology.
Driven by a lifelong mission to infuse humanity into a restorative system that turns no one away, Crystal is committed to revolutionizing the criminal justice system. Her work focuses on addressing racial disparities, economic hardships, and childhood trauma. She has also provided crisis support in Lebanon, Syria, Kenya, and the United States, broadening her impact on a global scale.

Hope M. Love, BSW, ADC
Program Manager & Rostered Psychotherapist
Hope Love is the Program Manager and a psychotherapist at Therapeutic WORKS Inc., dedicated to supporting the organization’s mission and clients through program development, oversight, and direct counseling services. She has 17 years of experience in addiction treatment—particularly working with adults involved in child protection and family court systems.
At TWI, Hope provides pre-trial case management services and provides counseling for individuals charged or convicted of sexual or interpersonal violence offenses.
She holds a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Vermont and is set to graduate with a Master of Social Work from Boston University in May 2025.

Morgaine Wilde MSW, ADC
Reintegration Stabilization Clinician
Morgaine Wilde holds a bachelor’s degree in Transpersonal Psychology from Burlington College and a Master of Social Work from the University of Vermont. Her career has been dedicated to supporting individuals in recovery from addiction and those with a history of incarceration. Through outpatient counseling at TWI, Morgaine brings valuable expertise and compassion to the clients she serves.
Passionate about prison reform and expanding resources for individuals reentering the community, Morgaine is a strong advocate for systemic change. Outside of work, she enjoys playing music, exploring local swimming holes, and attending Pearl Jam concerts.

Jennifer Greenwood LADC, LCMHC
Reintegration Stabilization Clinician
Jennifer Greenwood is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with 18 years of experience in mental health and substance use treatment. She has worked in a variety of roles and settings, providing support to diverse populations, including individuals involved with the Vermont Department of Corrections and Vermont Department of Children and Families.
At Therapeutic WORKS Inc., Jennifer assists clients through screening, intake, and assessment processes, ensuring they are connected to the therapeutic services best suited to their needs.

Kristie Torbick, MEd., Certified Yoga Instructor
Development Specialist
Kristie supports the mission and clients of TWI by researching and developing grant applications for funding opportunities. Additionally, she has designed a psychoeducational curriculum for clients regarding grief work which supports Reintegration Stabilization. She has over a decade of experience in the counseling field, recreational therapy and (trauma informed) yoga. Kristie uses her lived experiences with the carceral system to personalize her contributions to TWI.

Andrew Bartnick
Andrew is the President of the Therapeutic Works Inc. Board of Directors. He is a licensed Private Investigator and owner of Vermont Investigation Services, LLC in Waterbury Center, VT. He has worked as a criminal defense investigator/mitigation specialist for indigent people accused of crime at various levels of government since 1991. He began his career at the Public Defender’s Office in Utica, New York and then left to focus on death penalty defense work at the Capital Defender’s Office in Albany, New York. From 1999-2013 he worked for the Federal Public Defender’s Office for the District of Vermont, where he was the Senior Investigator handling a wide variety of cases. In private practice as an investigator since 2014, he continues to work for those in need.

Jessica Brown
Jessica Brown, Burlington City Attorney, provides the Therapeutic WORKS Inc. Board with experience as an Assistant Professor of Law and the Associate Director of the Center for Justice Reform at Vermont Law and Graduate School. Professor Brown joined the VLGS faculty in July 2021 after a twenty-four-year Public Defender career in New Hampshire and Vermont, in both the State and Federal Criminal Legal Systems. Professor Brown’s areas of interest include addressing the impact of wealth and race disparities in the Criminal and Juvenile Legal Systems, moving away from law enforcement and punishment responses toward restorative and transformative responses to harm, and providing the resources to address issues of health, wellness, and stability that will make our communities safer.

David McColgin
David comes to Therapeutic WORKS Inc as a semi-retired criminal defense attorney, currently handling court appointed appeals for the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. He is also the defense attorney for the Federal Recovery Court in Rutland, Vermont. David started out his legal career as a public defender with New York Legal Aid Society in 1981. He then worked in the Defender Association of Philadelphia from 1984 to 2012 in both state and federal court. While in Philadelphia he served as chief of the federal court appeals unit for ten years. He then worked as a staff attorney in the Vermont Federal Public Defender Office from 2012 to 2022. David is particularly concerned with epidemic of over-incarceration in the US and is focused on finding alternatives to prison. Outside of his legal career, David also teaches meditation and yogic breathing and has taught courses in prison.

Andrew Garland
Andrew comes to Therapeutic WORKS Inc. with nearly 20 years of experience working within healthcare in Vermont. Presently, he is the Vice President of Client Relations and External Affairs for BlueCross BlueShield of Vermont. He is an intuitive leader who recognizes the importance of consistent and intentional communication coupled with purposeful relationship building.
Andrew served as an Arabic linguist in the army and was a senior underwriter at Kaiser Permanente in Sacramento. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the State University of New York, College at Geneseo, and a Master of Science degree in Administration and Management from St. Michael’s College.
